3 arrested for snatching mobile & dragging Class 12 girl in Jalandhar's Green Model Town area; CP reiterates commitment to wipe crime

Jalandhar Police Commissionerate led by Commissioner of Police Mr Swapan Sharma has resolved the an incident in which a girl was dragged on the road with the arrest of three accused. 

Divulging the details, the Commissioner of Police said that Lakshmi d/o Paragi Lal r/o HNo 75/03 Garden Colony Jalandhar had lodged a complaint that she and her sister were returning from work. He said that the complainant had told that when was moving inside her house, three motorcycle borne youth stopped the bike in front of her and tried to snatch the mobile phone and started escaping. Mr Swapan Sharma said that Lakshmi caught the boy sitting behind on the bike but the motorcyclists dragged her to a long distance due to which she suffered many injuries. 

The Commissioner of Police said that the Police had filed a Fir No. 198 dated 07.09.2024 u/s 304, 3(5) BNS at Police Station Division No. 6 . He said that during investigation the accused were identified as Pawanpreet Singh @ Bagga s/o Late Jaswant Singh r/o HNo 573 Latifpura, Jalandhar, Gagandeep Singh @ Gagan s/o Sukhwinder Singh r/o HNo. 6 Ekta Vihar near Kuki Dhab at present HNo. 1490 Urban Estate Phase 2, Jalandhar, and Lovepreet Singh @ Love s/o Sukhwinder Singh r/o HNo. 1490 Urban Estate Phase II. Subsequently, Mr Swapan Sharma said that the Police arrested the trio and the motorcycle No. PB08-BE-1179 used during the incident, was recovered. 

The Commissioner of Police said that three cases are already pending against Gagandeep Singh whereas no criminal history of Pawanpreet Singh and Lovepreet Singh has been found so far. He said that further investigations into the case are going on and details will be shared later on. Mr Swapan Sharma reiterated the firm commitment of the Commissionerate Police to wipe out crime from the city and maintain law and order in it.
