Aam Aadmi Party's National Convenor & former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has accused the Central Government of trying to protect notorious gangsters in India. AAP Supremo mentioned the name of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and outlined how he is operating from jail. AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal made the allegations against the Central Government in a podcast with Raj Shamani.
Arvind Kejriwal was asked about the power distribution of Delhi after he said that his party is in 'half-power' in the national capital. On being asked to elaborate on the half-power term, Arvind Kejriwal outlined the Central Government is responsible for law and order in Delhi. To be precise, the Delhi Police comes under the Union Home Minister led by HM Amit Shah. Below is what Arvind Kejriwal said-
"In the last 1-1.5 years, Delhi has been in control of 11 gangsters. 11 gangsters in the country have taken complete control of Delhi. Everyone knows their names, I don't have to mention it. Even the Police and Home Ministry know about it. Why aren't they doing anything? Why aren't they arresting those gangsters? People who complain against the gangsters, get arrested. What is the message? The system is there to protect the gangsters?"
"It is Delhi's Police statement, that Lawrence Bishnoi is lodged in Sabarmati Jail of Gujarat. He is committing crimes in Delhi by sitting inside the jail. How is doing this? How he is getting phones? How is he operating in Sabarmati Jail in Gujarat?"
"On average, 17 children get kidnapped in Delhi on a daily basis. 10 women are getting kidnapped in Delhi on average. Daily at least 3 women get raped in Delhi. What is BJP doing or what is Central Government doing?"
'Was almost in solitary confinement': Arvind Kejriwal
Arvind Kejriwal further narrated his time when he was lodged in Delhi's Tihar Jail. The AAP Supremo said, "I was given almost like a solitary confinement. Solitary confinements are generally given to dreaded terrorists. They are kept alone and not allowed to speak to anyone. You are only allowed to speak to security staff and medical staff."
"The locks of jail get open at 6 am. At that moment, other prisoners can go out and talk to others. But, I was not allowed to go out or talk to anyone. I was in complete solitary confinement. It used to jam my mental condition. Generally, VVIPs or political prisoners are allowed to meet visitors in a room but I was not. Even when Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann came, he was not allowed to meet me in a room.
Then even stopped my medicine. They stopped my insulin for 15 days. I had to court for this. When Jay Prakash Narayan was in jail, his kidney was fine. But, four months after he came out both kidneys failed."
