AAP National Convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday in a massive claim accused the Modi government of forming a case to arrest Punjab Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha. Arvind Kejriwal on Friday took to his Twitter handle and stated that he is hearing that the BJP is forming a case against Raghav Chadha after he has increased his visit to poll-bound Gujarat. Furthermore, Kejriwal stated that fear is prevailing in the BJP seeing AAP's amping popularity in Gujarat and therefore Centre is preparing a case against the Punjab Rajya Sabha MP. Chadha too responded to this and stated that he and his party are followers of Bhagat Singh and therefore they do not fear going to jail. Notably, Kejriwal in his address had cautioned that Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia might be implicated in a fake case and central investigative agencies might take action against him well ahead of his name popping out in the alleged Delhi Liquor Policy Scam. As a result, Kejriwal's fear of Chadha's arrest indeed raise many eyebrows with people wondering in which case he might be implicated by the BJP.

Delhi CM Kejriwal's fear of Raghav Chadha's arrest came at a time when the CBI and the ED have been probing Delhi Liquor Policy Scam case. Delhi Liquor Policy Scam case's links have been emerging in Punjab as the ED and CBI have raided the premises of multiple big officers. For instance, ED raided the Panchkula house of Punjab Excise Officer Naresh Dubey. ED also conducted a raid at the residence of Punjab Excise and Taxation Commissioner Varun Roojam.

Delhi Excise Policy scam's Punjab Connection

Is BJP really trying to buy out AAP MLAs in Punjab?

True Scoop in its report on September 17 report had discussed how Delhi Excise Policy Scam connected with Punjab. Delhi Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar's report submitted to Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Lt Governor VK Saxena, accused Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia of providing undue benefits to those holding liquor licenses. The report further alleged the benefits were extended in return for the money that was used by the AAP in the Punjab Assembly polls (in which Aam Aadmi Party won). Furthermore, two companies named Brindco and Anant Wines and spirits have been named in the Delhi Excise Policy scam case. Both companies have been allotted wholesale liquor licenses for Indian-Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and Bottled-in Origin (BIO) in Punjab. The allotment of licenses to these two private entities have enabled them to capture almost 70 percent of the market of IMFL and BIO business.

Will Vijay Nair 'bend the knee' before Central Investigative Agencies?

Vijay Nair was arrested by the Central Burau of Investigation in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy 2021-2022 on Tuesday, September 27. Nair was called to CBI Headquarters and was arrested after questioning. He was arrested for conspiracy, 'cartelisation', and 'chosen licensing'. The CBI, in its First Information Report (FIR) on the liquor scam, had named 14 accused, including Vijay Nair. Notably, Vijay Nair's arrest irked the Aam Aadmi Party with the party accusing the BJP of arresting Nair as he did not 'bend the knee' and took Manish Sisodia's name. However, after Nair's arrest, it was expected that big names might come and the CBI might amp up its investigation in the Delhi Excise Policy 2021-2022 case. Although there are no reports that Nair has taken any big names after his arrest, Kejriwal has stated that the BJP is forming a case against Raghav Chadha.
