Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor & former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal has reached Punjab for a 10-day meditation retreat. As per the information received, the former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and his wife Sunita will attend the meditation course at the Dhamma Dhaja Vipassana Centre near Hoshiarpur, slated to commence on Wednesday. As per reports, AAP Supremo arrived at the Forest Rest House in Chohal, about 14 km from Hoshiarpur, late Tuesday night. Now, the question arises what's so special about Dhamma Dhaja Vipassana Centre where Arvind Kejriwal is present? Below is all you need to know- 

Dhamma Dhaja Vipassana Centre near Hoshairpur, Punjab

As per the official website of the Vipasana Center near Hoshairpur, Dhamma Dhaja means 'Flag of Dhamma' and it is located at Village Anandgarh, 12 kms from Hoshiarpur District. Dhamma Dhaja Vipassana Centre is located in the foothills of Shivalik Mountains range.

Dhamma Dhaja is relatively close to Dhamma Sikhara, Dharamshala, and caters to the overflow of Dhamma Sikhara. Presently the Centre is having 52 male accoomodation (including 36 single attached rooms) and  38 females accomodation (including 18 single attached rooms). The Centre is also having Pagoda with 68 inidvidual meditation cells.

Dhamma Dhaja Vipassana Centre's 10-day meditation course

The official website further reveals the famous 10-day meditation court. Dhamma Dhaja Vipassana Centre 's 10-day course reads, "10-day Courses are an introductory course to Vipassana Meditation where the technique is taught step-by-step each day. The courses begin after a 2 - 4 pm registration period and orientation, followed by 10 full days of meditation, and end the morning of the 11th day by 7:30 am."

The centre teaches courses that were formed by Satya Narayan Goenka, or S.N. Goenka who passed away in 2013. He was originally from Burma (Myanmar), and had been teaching Vipasana in India since 1969. Satya Narayan Goenka breathed his last in September 2013 at the age of 89.

Notably, Arvind Kejriwal had previously visited the Center in 2023 for a meditation retreat.
