Ahead of his scheduled visit to Chandigarh tomorrow, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday took to twitter and promised free electricity in Punjab if the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) wins the polls.
This big announcement by Kejriwal comes at a time when Assembly elections in Punjab are scheduled to be held in February or March next year.
Kejriwal in his tweet claimed that women in Punjab are very unhappy with inflation. He said that high inflation had made it difficult for them to run households and the free electricity would make things easier for them.
“In Delhi we provide 200 units of free electricity to every family. The women are very happy. Women in Punjab are also very unhappy with inflation. The AAP government will also provide free electricity in Punjab. See you tomorrow in Chandigarh,” Kejriwal tweeted in Punjabi.
It was believed that free electricity in the national capital was one of the key reasons behind AAP’s return to power for the third time in 2020.
