Aam Aadmi Party supremo and
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has scheduled his visit to Punjab on June 21
ahead of state Assembly Elections 2022.
This visit of Kejriwal, hints on expanding AAP’s footprint in the state by adding a few prominent opposition party leaders in his nine-year-old outfit.
There are speculations that former IG Kunwar Vijay Pratap may join Aam Aadmi Party tomorrow in the presence of CM Kejriwal in Amritsar. His induction into party means that former IG could either emerge as Punjab CM or Deputy CM candidate in the upcoming Assembly Elections 2022.
However along with him, other prominent leaders’ names have also emerged. It has been learnt from the sources that BJP national convener Laxmi Kanta Chawla, who was former Cabinet minister and held health portfolio is expected to join AAP in the presence of party chief.

Notably, the rationale behind the joining of BJP leaders is anticipated to be ‘Kisan Morcha’ as BJP has failed to address the farmers’ grievances and their demand to roll back the contentiously passed three farm laws in 2020.
Apart from this, a Shiromani Akali Dal leader who is a closer aide to Badal’s is also likely to join the Delhi CM led- AAP on June 21.
With the elections round the corner in the state, Arvind Kejriwal does not want to leave any stone unturned to step into the political circle of Punjab as he believes the state requires change from the conventional parties’ reign.
If these new faces will enter the AAP, then the probability will be high of other leaders to abandon their respective parties to bring a transformation in Punjab. Also for the upcoming elections, likewise Congress and SAD, AAP’s play card is targeted at the Hindu-Sikh vote bank.
However, now, it will be evident to see if former IG Kunwar Vijay Pratap along with other prominent leaders of BJP and SAD will hold a ‘Jhadu’ of AAP in their hands or not.
