The big day has finally arrived for the team of ‘Sooryavanshi’ after a wait of nearly two years. The film is helmed by director Rohit Shetty stars Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif in lead. Sooryavanshi team has left no stone unturned as the star cast is leaving no chance to promote the film and attract the audience.
Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif had recently made an appearance in the TVs popular chat show 'The Kapil Sharma Show', where Katrina revealed that she had to slap Akshay Kumar in a shot without any retake. The actors ahead of their film Sooryavanshi’s release appeared on the show that will be aired this weekend and will be seen speaking some unknown stories about the film and their experience working together again after Tees Maar Khan.
In Sooryavanshi, Akshay Kumar will be seen donning the role of a DSP who will fight crime, while Katrina plays his wife’s character. The film also features special cameos by Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh. The film is hitting the theatres on 5 November which was set to release in early 2020 but due to Coronavirus lockdown, the release got delayed.

In a report by SpotboyE, the host of the chat show Kapil Sharma asked the actress about retakes in the film and she answered that there was a slap scene in which she had to slap Akshay. “Nei, thappad wala scene mein koi retake nei tha. Ek hi baar kiya (No there was no retake in the scene in which I slapped him. It was done in a single shot).”
To this Akshay replies, “Asli mein hua tha. Asli mein mara hai. Nei woh actually gap nazar aa jaate toh isne asli mein pail diya (It actually happened. She really hit me. The gap would have become visible so she slapped me in reality).”
Further, when Kapil asked Katrina about the romantic scenes with Akshay and if those required retakes, She replied, “Nei romantic wale scenes mein bhi hum zyada retake nei karte. Akshay aur mera tuning bohot acha hai (No, we don't do many retakes in romantic scenes either. My tuning with Akshay is really good).”

Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif have done six films together - Namaste London, Humko Deewana Kar Gaye, Singh is Kinng, Welcome, De Dana Dan and Tees Maar Khan.
As we recall an old interview of Katrina, she spoke about hitting Akshay while filming ‘Welcome’. "I slapped Akshay while shooting for Welcome. I was required to slap Akshay for a scene. I did that, but somehow it was not looking real and the director called for a retake. I did the shot again, but I wasn’t able to get it right. Akshay got fed up and shouted ‘Come on, slap me hard’. I got carried away and landed one tight slap on his cheek, everyone just froze on the sets, and there was pin-drop silence," Katrina had said.
