New Delhi: An Indian teenage boy from Assam has been 'repatriated' back to India earlier this week for mistakenly crossing into Pakistan's side. According to media reports, Bimal Narjere, 16, inadvertently crossed into the Pakistan's side in August last year.
Pakistan Rangers had informed the India's Border Security Force (BSF) about Bimal and had initiated inquiry into the matter. Reports have informed that after completion of 'legal requirements and verification' of his identity, Narjee was handed over to BSF personnel via Wagah Border on Tuesday.
Earlier last year, Indian authorities had handed over two Pakistani prisoners at Wagah border. On December 26 last year, Indian authorities released Abdullah Shah and Imran Warsi, two Pakistani nationals, through the Wagah Border. Abdullah, who hails from Mingora in Pakistan, was detained by Indian authorities from Attari in 2017. Warsi, who is from Karachi, spent 10 years in Bhopal jail on charges of ‘forgery and spying’ following his visit to India in 2004, said the media reports.
