Now-a-days, no fear of police can be seen among the people. Today, when a Police officer went to Jagraon village to help a woman, he was not only beaten up by the attackers, but, his government pistol was also snatched away from him.
The attackers wanted to kill him and hang his body in the street, but his life was saved due to the intelligence of the Constable. The police have named 16 people including five women in this case and arrested five including two women and locked them in the police station. Police is trying to arrest the rest of the accused.
According to the sources, Amandeep Kaur, a local resident of Gobindgarh, filed a complaint on police helpline number. After which outpost in-charge Jalaldiwal reached the village Gobindgarh with ASI Gursewak Singh and Constable Harminder Singh.
Amandeep Kaur, along with her father was standing on the road and they were narrating the details of their complaint to the police. They told that her son was taken away from her by her in-laws. They have taken her son to an uncle Harbans Singh’s house.
The police inquired about the whole matter and went to Harbans Singh’s house in Jagraon. The matter was so big that the policemen were badly beaten up by the attackers and were also dragged inside the house.
ASI Gursewak Singh said that the attackers were holding sticks in their hands and were saying, “Thanedar Nu Marke Gali Vich Tangna”. During this time Constable Harminder Singh made a phone call from the mobile to the post. His presence of mind saved the life of his officials.
16 people, including five women, were named , five arrested in police station Sadar Raikot, three brothers Harbans Singh, Nirmal Singh, Bant Singh, Mandih Singh, Sukhraj Singh, Lakhvir Singh, Darspreet Singh, Gurmel Kaur, Sukhwinder Kaur, Harpreet Singh, Jagraj Singh Harbans Singh, Jagraj Singh, Harpreet Singh, Harshpreet Kaur and Jaswinder Kaur have been arrested by registering a case of intention murder against Pirata Singh resident Gobindgarh, Sandeep Singh resident Sandod, Kuldeep Kaur, Jaswinder Kaur, Arshpreet Kaur resident Dhaner.
