Deadly militant attack at Nairobi hotel, 15 killed and over 30 injured

Moscow: On Tuesday night, a gunfire was heard at the site of the deadly attack on a hotel and office complex in the Kenyan capital. The local news channel reported an explosion shortly after an operation began to rescue people who are believed to be still trapped at the Dusit hotel in Nairobi.

The attackers were armed with rifles and grenades. Huge explosions followed by gun shots rent the air as they stormed the complex.

At least 15 people were reported dead and 30 wounded after militants stormed the luxury compound. The Islamist terror group, Al Shabaab, claimed the responsibility for the gun-and-bomb attack.

US State Department confirms death of one American in the attack. A Briton is also said to be among those killed. Further eleven victims were identified as Kenyans, while two had no IDs on them.
