Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his Lok Sabha Elections 2024 campaign on Thursday. On Thusday, PM Modi visited Hoshairpur, Punjab and sought votes for BJP candidate Anita Som Prakash. During the rally, PM Modi also announced his desire to rename Jalandhar's Adampur Airport on Guru Ravidas Ji. However, hours before PM Modi's visit to Hoshairpur, water from canal was released and it almost reached near the helipad where the veteran BJP leader was about to land.
However, before that, people informed the administrative officials about it. After which officers immediately reached the gate of the canal and got it closed. After this, a JCB was called and the water flowing towards the helipad was stopped by digging pits. The administration officers were successful in stopping the water 2 kilometers behind the helipad. An investigation has started to find out whether it was someone's mischief or a conspiracy to spoil the helipad built for the PM.
Hoshiarpur DC Komal Mittal reportedly has asked for a report from the canal department in this regard. She has asked who and why released this water despite the PM's rally. The canal was 3 km away from the rally site. PM Modi had a rally in Hoshiarpur on Thursday at 11 am. Bassi Ghulam Hussain Kandikanal canal flows 3 km away from the rally site. A helipad was built near the canal to land the PM's helicopter. However, sometime before the PM's arrival, someone opened the gate valve of the canal. Due to which the canal water started flowing at a fast speed and entered the surrounding areas. Water also came on the road.
In this case, Kandikanal Canal SDO Dinesh Kumar said that an investigation is being conducted to find out who opened the gate valve of the canal.
