Priyanka Chopra hit back at an Australian journalist who questioned whether she and her husband Nick Jonas had enough qualifications for announcing Oscar nominations that happened this Monday.
The journalist, Peter Ford, who describes himself as 'the best and most widely heard entertainment reporter in Australia & NZ' allegedly' in his Twitter bio, wrote, "No disrespect to these two but I’m not sure their contribution to movies qualifies them to be announcing Oscar nominees.”
Priyanka in her response shared a recording of her scrolling down through her phone a list of solid filmography of over 60 movies on IMDB. She wrote, "Would love your thoughts on what qualifies someone. Here are my 60+ film credentials for your adept consideration @mrpford." Later, the journalist deleted his tweet and made his account private.
Priyanka and Nick announced the Oscar nominations on Monday, where coincidentally The White Tiger – which Priyanka both produced and acted in – won a nod for Ramin Bahrani in the best-adapted screenplay category.

The actress fans were all praise for her dignified reply and also told her to not take such people seriously. "Lol, he deleted the post. Priyanka and Nick - 1 Peter Ford - 0," wrote one. "Not only does this diminish a woman’s career but also disregards the importance of World Cinema and it’s presence at the Oscars. Like film doesn’t just revolve around American movies," wrote another.
Priyanka’s industry career has lasted over 17 years, has done several hit movies in Bollywood and has received multiple awards for her performance in India before she headed towards Hollywood. Her upcoming projects include The Matrix, Citadel and Text For You.
