Auto drivers started an initiative to ease the situation of Covid-19 in the city. According to the initiative leader Keshav Kshirsagar, they have set up oxygen cylinders in their three auto-rickshaws to help the people who have been suffering due to the lack of medical oxygen and beds in the hospitals.

He said, “These oxygen cylinders can last up to six to seven hours. We have a helpline number through which patients can contact us. We have trained our drivers on how to give oxygen to patients and they also take full precautions. We also have a team of professional doctors.”
Keshav further said, “People who are suffering from Covid-19 were finding it difficult to get a bed in the hospitals, so we have installed oxygen support in three of our autos to help them.”
As per the State Health Department’s report, Maharashtra has reported 46,781 fresh Covid cases and 816 deaths in 24 hours on Wednesday, which took the case and death toll to 5,226,710 and 78,007 respectively. Currently, the recovery rate of the state is at 88.01 per cent.
