Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhat’s starer ‘Brahmastra’
has made it to the headlines quite often, the public is too excited to watch
the star couple on screen. Meanwhile, the director of the movie Ayan Mukerji released
a new BTS video on Wednesday, presenting the mythos of their upcoming film and
also introducing various ‘astras’ which will be featured alongside the
megastars.
Ayan posted a video on his Instagram handle with
the caption, “While Bramhastra is a work of fiction, and my attempt has been to
celebrate Indian spirituality, in my own way, through this movie.” Further, he added, “On this very auspicious day
of Guru Purnima, I wanted to share a little more in-depth about the concept of
Bramhastra – a movie through which I personally found myself transforming into
a forever-student of the infinite wisdom that exists in our ancient Indian
roots. Hope you guys enjoy our imagination! #astraverse.”
Through the video, Ayan presents the premise of
Bramhastra which begins in an ancient world. The visual begins with an image
from a mystical time in ancient India, where ‘Brahmansh’ a group of sages, are
in deep meditation in the Himalayas, after which they are blessed with ‘The
Light of the Universe.’
Further, the description from the plot comes in a
way that these sages, for centuries, continue to exist as a ‘secret society’
alongside humanity. Ayan elaborates further on this by saying, “This puts us in
a unique position as no one has done what we are doing with ancient Indian
inspiration, in the modern world, ever.”
Ayan has dissected the various ‘astras’ which are
the key elements of his upcoming film. The filmmaker shared that ‘astras’ are
those weapons that are based on the four elements of matter- fire, earth, wind,
and water with an exquisite ability to harness the power of animals like bulls
and monkeys. However, the greatest among all the astras is Bramhastra, as it
carries the essence of all four astras mentioned above.
The filmmaker explains, “These sages vow to
protect these astras and as the guardians of Bramhastra, they name themselves
Brahmansh, a secret society which will exist amongst other men, and does good
for the world with the power of these astras. Time moves forward humanity proceeds
ahead and so the Bramhastra as well.”
Ayan then introduced the viewers to ‘Shiva’, the
protagonist of this mythological plot, portrayed by Ranbir. He says, “in the world
of astras he is a miracle because he is an astra himself.”
The trailer of ‘Bramhastra’ received a warm
response from the netizens for the spectacular visuals and the super interesting
plot of the story. All praise was for Ayan for his efforts to present something
new that the majority of the audience would have never experienced before.
It is a 3 part film and will be released all
across India, across five different languages – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam,
and Kannada. Besides, the movie also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and
Nagarjuna Akkineni in the lead roles.
The upcoming mythological film has been in the
headlines from the very first day it was announced. It took the makers of the
film four years to start production after all these days and delays the film
will finally hit the big screen pan India on September, 9th in 2D
