Azaad is an Indian Hindi-language historical drama film. It is directed by Abhishek Kapoor. The film is produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Pragya Kapoor. This historical drama movie stars Ajay Devgn as Vikram Singh, Diana Penty as Kesar, Aaman Devgan as Govind and Rasha Thadani as Janaki.
The movie is set in 1920s in India. The storyline of the movie revolves around a young stable boy, who forms an extraordinary bond with a horse named Azaad. In the movie, his quest is to ride the majestic horse. Later on, the quest gets transform into a path of self-discovery and courage. This movie was theatrically released on 17th January 2025.
Where to watch Azaad online?
As per India Forums, the streaming rights for Azaad have been acquired by the streaming giant, Netflix. However, the release date has not been announced yet. It is expected that the movie will be available, after completing its run in theatres.
The synopsis of the movie reads, “In 1920s India, a young stable boy bonds with a spirited horse. Amid rebellion and tyranny, his quest to ride the majestic animal becomes a journey of courage, awakening him to the country's fight for freedom.”
Rasha Thadani and Aaman Devgan's debut film Azaad was shot in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, in order to showcase scenic landscapes and historic monuments. The music of the movie is composed by Amit Trivedi whereas the lyrics are written by Amitabh Bhattacharya and Swanand Kirkire.
Rasha said that she and Aaman didn't get along initially but later on developed a beautiful bond. She said, “He really grew on me as a person. He is one of the sweetest people I know. Now, he is truly my best friend and someone I can truly depend on for anything because we have grown together. We have learnt everything together. So, we have that bond.”
