As per reports, the fourth accused in Baba Siddique murder case turned out to be from Punjab. This accused is Mohammad Zeeshan Akhtar. Mohammad Zeeshan Akhtar is said to be the handler of the three shooters who was guiding them during the NCP leader's murder.
Who is Mohammad Zeeshan Akhtar, the fourth accused in Baba Siddique's Murder?
As per reports, Mohammad Zeeshan Akhtar is a resident of Shankar village of Nakodar in Jalandhar. Jalandhar Rural Police had arrested him in the year 2022 in a case of organized crime, murder, and robbery.
For those who are unaware, Baba Siddique was killed by 3 shooters. Among the are- Gurmail Baljit Singh, a resident of village Narad in Kaithal district in Haryana. The remaining 2 shooters are from Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh. Of these, Gurmail Baljit Singh of Haryana and the second shooter Dharamraj have been arrested. The third shooter Shivkumar is still absconding.
As per reports, Mohammad Zeeshan Akhtar was giving directions to the three shooters from outside. At the time when Siddique was shot, Akhtar was giving information to the shooters about his location. Apart from this, Akhtar also helped the shooters with other logistical support including renting rooms.
Akhtar was reportedly lodged in Patiala jail. He came out of jail on June 7 this year. Akhtar came in touch with Lawrence Bishnoi's gang in Patiala jail itself. After which he joined the gang after coming out of jail.
The accused Zeeshan is just 21 years old. The accused was so clever that in 2022 he was caught using WhatsApp on a foreign number. Zeeshan has studied only till 10th from a government school located in Shankar village of Nakodar. The accused's father Muhammad Jameel works as a tile contractor. One brother of the accused works with his father. His sister is dead.
How is Zeeshan involved in Baba Siddique's murder?
Initial investigations have reportedly revealed that after being released from jail on June 7, Zeeshan first reached Kaithal in Haryana to meet Gurmail. After getting orders from the bosses there, the shooters left for Mumbai. All the accused were living together in Mumbai. After this 3 accused committed the crime and Zeeshan fled from there after the incident.
Mumbai Police sources have been quite saying that the investigation so far has revealed that Zeeshan was in Mumbai at the time of the murder. After the murder, his location has come in Mumbai and surrounding areas. Traps have been set for Zeeshan at different places by about three teams.
In 2022, Zeeshan Akhtar was caught by the team of Swapan Sharma, then SSP of Jalandhar Rural. Then Surinder Singh Kamboj, who was in charge of CIA Rural, arrested him along with his associates from Shink Pind village of Nakodar. The accused was wanted in organized crime, murder, and many other heinous cases. Zeeshan was released from jail in 7 months and reached Kaithal and then Mumbai
NCP (Ajit faction) leader Baba Siddique was shot dead in Mumbai on Saturday night. Siddique had left Congress in February this year and joined Ajit Pawar. 28 hours after the murder, Lawrence Bishnoi's gang took responsibility for the murder by posting on social media. It wrote, "We will not spare those who help Salman Khan and Dawood."
