In a horrific development, a man named Lareb Hashmi attacked a 24-year-old bus conductor with a cleaver accusing him of committing blasphemy. The 24-year-old bus conductor was identified as Harikesh Vishwakarma and Lareb Hashmi reportedly attacked him inside the bus. The shocking incident occurred on Friday in the Praygraj city of Uttar Pradesh. Notably, after attacking the bus conductor, Lareb Hashmi made a video of himself and justified his action. As a result, Lareb Hashmi video went viral on social media. Not only this, Lareb Hashmi Prayagraj video prompted strong reactions from netizens as well.
Lareb Hashmi in the video can be heard saying, "(The bus conductor) was abusing Muslims. So I attacked him with a cleaver. He will not survive. He will be dead soon. From India to France, whoever insults our Prophet will be exterminated,” the Islamist was heard saying. We are ready to die for you and go to jail, O Prophet Muhammad."
As per reports, Harikesh Vishwakarma suffered serious injuries to his neck and body after Hashmi hacked him with a cleaver over a ticket fare dispute. After attacking the bus conductor Hashmi reportedly jumped out of the bus and sought refuge in a nearby college campus where he made a video of himself justifying his actions.
While speaking about the incident, bus driver Mangla Yadav was quoted as saying, "Suddenly, there was an attack inside the bus. I heard a sound and then stopped the bus."
After the attack, the Police reached the college campus. However, Lareb Hasmi attempted to escape and even fired at the cops, reports suggested. In retaliation, Lareb was shot in the leg by the cops. Reports further suggest that Lareb Hashmi is a first-year engineering student at the United Engineering College in Prayagraj. He was admitted to the hospital for treatment of his bullet injury. The UP Police have reportedly arrested Lareb under relevant sections and an investigation is going on.
