The Jalandhar West bye-elections are just around the corner. The talk of the town is Sheetal Angural’s party switch to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and his subsequent resignation which was recently accepted. It is increasingly likely that Angural will get the ticket from BJP to contest the elections. In such a situation, former MP Sushil Kumar Rinku has made a big claim that Angural is likely to face severe legal action from the ruling party in a case of ‘vendetta politics’.
While going live on Friday, former MP Sushil Rinku said, “After our party declares Sheetal as its candidate, he can have any case filed against him. My sources have told that if Sheetal Angural is the BJP candidate then a case will be registered against him.”
“Sheetal has been targeted since he left AAP. When Sheetal Angural was a part of the Aam Aadmi Party, no leader or police ever raised a finger. But ever since Sheetal joined BJP, discussions about Sheetal’s legal cases have intensified” Rinku went on to say.
Rinku continued to raise questions about the politics of the Aam Aadmi Party saying that if any legal action is taken against Sheetal Angural following his announcement as BJP’s candidate, then its because of the ‘vendetta politics’ that AAP partakes in. “Today I have come live only because people should know how the Aam Aadmi Party is targeting the opposition in Punjab… I request DGP Gaurav Yadav not to take any illegal action under the pressure of any party” he said.
