With Charanjit Singh Channi becoming the new Chief Minister of Punjab, the tables have turned for Capt Amarinder Singh and his loyalists. The new government started a major reshuffle in the
state bureaucracy, appointing close aides of Sidhu’s camp to key posts.
The tussle between former CM Capt Amarinder Singh and Punjab PCC chief Navjot Singh Sidhu had led to a dramatic episode of Bajwa vs Bajwa. Two legislators- Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa of
Sidhu’s camp and Partap Singh Bajwa of Capt Amarinder’s camp were seen in a face-off. Even though Partap Bajwa had an upper hand, post-change of guard in the state, Tripat Singh has emerged as the winner in this
fight.
About a month ago, when Capt Amarinder was in power, his close aide Partap Singh Bajwa appointed his loyalists to key posts in Batala. Removing Tripat Bajwa’s confidant Kasturi Lal
Seth, Partap Bajwa appointed Pawan Kumar Pamma as the chairman of Batala Improvement Trust. Chairman of the Batala Market Committee Rajinder Singh said to be Tripat Bajwa’s loyalist was also replaced by Gurinder Singh
Chikoo.
Partap Bajwa had shown his power in the area by putting two of his loyalists in high-ranking positions.

However, as soon as Charanjit Channi became CM, Tripat Bajwa’s confidants- Rajinder Singh and Kasturi Lal Seth were reappointed to their posts on Wednesday, September 22.
Partap Bajwa, also announced that he will run from the Gurdaspur district in upcoming polls, however, he focused on the Batala constituency. In addition, Tript Rajinder Bajwa, despite being
an MLA from Qadian, has been working hard in Batala for the past four years. Both had a long history of the competition, and Batala became a new point of conflict.
Meanwhile, Damandeeep Singh Uppal, a close confidant of Navjot Sidhu, replaced Dinesh Bassi as Chairman of the Amritsar Improvement Trust. Bassi, who was once a contender for a Congress
ticket from Amritsar, where Navjot Singh Sidhu contested, was considered an Amarinder supporter.
