Late Friday night in Bathinda, Punjab, some unidentified individuals reportedly found Khalistani slogans written at three places situated a 100-meters away from the Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Senior Superintendent of Police's (SSP) residence. These three places were the women’s Police Station, the Post office, and the Mini Secretariat.
As soon as the incident was detected, the administration swung into action following which the slogans written on the wall were erased. As per reports, the slogans, along with promoting seperatist sentiments, displayed anti-Congress, and anti-BJP sentiments. Slogans said No BJP-Congress Government among other things.
The writings were found in close proximity to the residences of high-ranked officials, where security personnel is deployed 24/7. Hence the occurance of this incident has raised pertinent question about its efficiency. The police say that the matter is actively being investigated.
