Four people were left dead after a shocking firing incident was reported inside the Bathinda Military Station in Punjab on Wednesday morning. As per reports, Station quick reaction teams were activated and the area has been cordoned off and sealed Search operations are in progress currently. The firing incident took place around 4.35 am inside the military station. To be precise, the shooting took place in Army Cantt Bathinda GO mess. All the entry gates of Amry Cantt have been closed. Army is not allowing local police to enter into cantt area. As per initial reports, no terror angle has been suspected as of now. While a detailed report of the Bathinda Military Station is yet to arrive, it has been reported that about two days ago one Insas rifle with 28 cartridges had gone missing. Some army personnel may be behind this incident as reported.

Stated to be the largest defence establishment in the country, the military station is located along the National Highway- 7 on the Chandigarh-Fazilka stretch. Bathinda SSP Gulneet Khurana was quoted saying as per the information shared by the defence establishment, no terror threat is suspected at this stage. He said the identities of the victims are yet to be confirmed by the military station authorities."Initial information says some army person opened indiscriminate firing on others. Preliminary no sabotage is suspected but details are awaited," said Khurana.
