Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday promised to build a Vodka plant in Uttar Pradesh. He said that the party will build a potato processing factory in Uttar Pradesh if voted to power.
Akhilesh said, “I have come to know that the (market) share of vodka has gone up in the last few years after BJP came to power. I want to assure you that we will provide a subsidy of Rs 100-200 crore for setting up industries to process potatoes in the region and make chips and snacks. If needed, we will even set up a plant to manufacture vodka to prevent the wastage of potatoes grown by the farmers of this region.”
Akhilesh said that this will help the farmers of Uttar Pradesh as it will prevent the wastage of potatoes in the state.
The first phase of voting in Uttar Pradesh will begin on Thursday. Results will be declared on March 10.
For Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav, contesting elections from Karhal, considered being a Samajwadi bastion and since 1993, the SP has never lost the election here.
Located about five kilometers from Sefai, the native village of Akhilesh Yadav, Karhal has a strong emotional connection with the Yadav family.
