The session starts on September 21, 2021, with the Women’s One Day League, which would be followed by India’s domestic T20 league – Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which is planned to begin on October 20 and the final would be played on November 12. The trophy would be played by five groups – Group A, Group B, Group C, Group D, and Group E
The BCCI is likely to expand the IPL from the 2022 season, and a mega auction is expected to take place, possibly after the Mushtaq Ali Tournament, in December.

BCCI also stated that the Ranji Trophy would be played in a three-month window from November 2021 to February 2021. There would be three elite groups in Ranji Trophy.
The statement released by the BCCI read, “The Ranji Trophy, which was canceled last season due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will be played in a three-month window from November 16, 2021, to February 19, 2022.”
Women’s T20 League is scheduled from March 19, 2022, to April 11, 2022.
The domestic League of 50 overs, Vijay Hazare Trophy would start from February 23, 2022, and would end on March 26, 2022. The trophy would be played in four groups – Group A, Group B, Group C and the Plate Group. There would be nine teams in Group A and B as well as in Group C and Plate Group there would be ten teams.
Across all men’s and women’s age groups total of 2127 matches would be played for the domestic session 2021-2022.
BCCI has expressed concern and is confident that this year domestic season would be conducted successfully and the health as well as safety of the players, spectators and other persons would be the top priority.
The official statement by BCCI read, “The BCCI is confident of hosting the domestic season with health and safety of players and all people involved being paramount.”
