Very Dense Fog was recorded at Amritsar. Ludhiana and Patiala (Punjab) at 08:30 A.M. today, i.e. 26 December. The visibility was recorded to be at a meagre 25 metres in these areas. It was a chilly morning as well as the minimum temperature dropped to 7 degrees in Jalandhar and Ludhiana and 8 degrees centigrade in Amritsar and Patiala. IMD has issued a red-alert in Punjab and Haryana for December 26 and 27, and orange-alert on December 28. Dense to very dense fog is likely to continue over Northwest & parts of adjoining Central India during next 3-4 days.
