The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) under Bhagwant Mann's leadership has implemented numerous initiatives to revolutionize the state’s education, health, and industrial sectors.
Key achievements include the launch of the School of Eminence in education, Mohalla Clinics in healthcare, and the provision of free electricity, all of which are positively transforming the lives of the people of Punjab.
The Mann government has also created jobs for youth, addressed youth aspirations, and encouraged reverse migration by creating thousands of employment opportunities.
As of 1st April 2022, the Punjab government, under Bhagwant Mann, has provided over 17,313 government jobs across 48 departments in just five months. By 2024, the numbers have grown further, underscoring the government’s commitment to employment generation.
- School Education Department: 4,662 recruitments
- Police Department: 4,374 recruitments
- Local Body Department: 3,600 recruitments
- Revenue Department: 1,091 recruitments
- Electricity Department: 1,097 recruitments
- Health Sector: 697 in medical colleges and 520 in health services
In addition, the Punjab Cabinet approved the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission for teachers in universities and government degree colleges, reflecting its focus on education reform and employee welfare.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann emphasized the government’s dedication to employment during a ceremony at Municipal Bhawan. In the first 10 months of its tenure, the government handed over 25,886 appointment letters, including 271 Specialist Doctors, 90 Lab Technicians, and 17 Health Department assistants. Mann highlighted these efforts as proof of the government’s commitment to youth empowerment.
By August 2024, the Mann government had provided appointment letters to 44,667 youth across various departments through a transparent, merit-based process. These efforts have inspired many young people to reconsider moving abroad, fostering faith in the state’s governance and opportunities.
Bhagwant Mann emphasized that the government’s priority is empowering youth and integrating them as equal partners in Punjab's socio-economic growth. Comparing the achievements of the past 2.5 years with the state’s 75-year history, Mann questioned why such efforts were not made earlier for the well-being of Punjab's youth.
