Bhagwant Mann revolutionizing health sector; 664 Aam Aadmi Clinics opened in Punjab, Over 1 crore people treated free of cost

Under the Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinic's initiative launched by the Bhawant Mann-led Punjab government, at least 667 Mohalla clinics have been set up across the state now that provide basic medical services to residents near their homes.

Bhagwant Mann Aam Aadmi Clinics Punjab:  Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's vision to revolutionize, improve, and decrease the pressure on hospitals has been working perfectly in the form of Aam Aadmi Clinics aka Mohalla Clinics. Under the Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinic's initiative launched by the Bhawant Mann-led Punjab government, at least 667 Mohalla clinics have been set up across the state till now that provide basic medical services to residents near their homes. This step is proving to be beneficial, especially for the economically weaker sections as it provides free-of-cost services. 

At the Aam Aadmi Clinics, 80 types of medicines are being given free of cost. Tests in 38 clinics are also being provided free of cost. More than 1 crore people have been treated in these clinics and about 20 lakh people have got free medical tests. These Aam Aadmi Clinics have been set up by upgrading existing PHD buildings in villages and towns with new equipment and infrastructure. It is worth mentioning that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had inaugurated 100 Aam Aadmi Clinics on the occasion of 75th Independence Day. In one and a half years, the number of Aam Aadmi Clinics has increased by six and a half times and the idea of ​​Aam Aadmi Clinics is being promoted in foreign countries as well. 40 countries have shown interest in this initiative, and representatives of these countries will visit Punjab to see the working of the Aam Aadmi Clinic.

For those who are unaware, AAP's Mohalla Clinics provides free treatment, medical tests, and medicines. In these clinics, a team of experienced doctors, nurses, and other medical staff diagnose and treat patients for their problems. The initiative aims to reduce congestion in big hospitals and make access to healthcare easier.

There are 664 Aam Aadmi Clinics— 236 in urban areas and 428 in Rural areas— functioning in the state and all of them are IT-enabled with end-to-end digitisation of registration, doctor consultation, investigations, and prescriptions. This results in a five-step patient journey and thus reduced turnout time from patient registration to prescription. Over 70 lakh patients have availed of free treatment at these clinics so far.

As per the Punjab Health Minister 2600 jobs have also been given under this.
