The Bharat Biotech on
Saturday has capped the Covid-19 vaccine ‘Covaxin’ price for the state
governments and the private hospitals amid the hard times when the nation is
witnessing an overwhelming number of positive patients.
It has been decided the vaccine manufacturer that states can procure the vaccine at Rs 6,00 per dose while the private hospitals could get it for Rs 1,200 per dose.
It added that for the vaccine export the price of Covaxin would range between $15-20, which Rs 1,123 to Rs 1,498 approximately.

In a statement issued, the vaccine manufacturer said, “We are deeply concerned by the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic in India and the world.”
"Bharat Biotech is honoured to develop, manufacture and supply Covaxin for India's vaccine rollout at rs 150 per dose, which is distributed for free by the Government of India. We would like to state that more than 50per cent of our capacities have been reserved for central government supplies,” the statement added.
Notably, the other vaccine manufacturer, Serum Institute of India, would likely sell its Covishield at Rs 400 per dose to states and Rs 600 to private hospitals.
