‘Bharat Ratna for Ratan Tata’, Twitterati launch new campaign

The campaign was first started by motivational speaker, Dr Vivek Bindra, demanding Bharat Ratna to be given to renowned industrialist Ratan Tata.

The microblogging site, Twitter today was soaring with demands of bestowing the prestigious award ‘Bharat Ratna’ to one of India’s great industrialists Ratan Tata. Twitterati were seen Tweeting #BharatRatnaForRatanTata. 

Dr Vivek Bindra, a business coach and motivational speaker was first to start this campaign. 

Dr Bindra in his tweet wrote: Ratan Tata believes today's generation of entrepreneurs can take India to the next level. We confer the country's highest civilian award Bharat Ratna for @RNTata2000.

Soon after Dr Bindra’s Tweet, Twitter was flooded with the same tone of demand, urging the Prime Minister to honour Mr Tata with Bharat Ratna. 

One user wrote that “I want to urge the PMO to award Bharat Ratna to the country's most powerful businessman.”

“One of the great humble Person on the earth "Sir Ratan Tata" Request for 'Bharat Ratna Award', wrote another.


Ratan Tata

Mr Ratan Tata is an Indian industrialist, philanthropist, and a former chairman of Tata Sons. Popular amongst the Indian population for his humble and polite nature, Tata has been involved in doing social service and known for his helping attitude towards his employees. Tata has been an ardent supporter of education, medicine and rural development, and is also awarded various awards for his charitable work. Tata has been imparting education and clean drinking water to backward places. Ratan Tata has millions of followers on social media and is loved and admired by most by the youth of this country. He was given Padma Vibhushan in 2008. A similar petition was launched to award Bharat Ratna to Mr Tata on www.change.org.
