Yet another controversy is seen to be cooking in the entertainment industry of India. Earlier it was between Bihar politics and Maharashtra politics and not it is turning out to be the Bhojpuri film industry and Bollywood film industry. Ever since the Bollywood film-maker Anubhav Sinha slammed Bhojpuri movies for feeding vulgarity to the people of India, a new debate has been started.
Anubhav reacted when BJP MP Ravi Kishan requested the NCB and the central government to clean the bog of drugs from the Bollywood film industry. As a response, Anubhav Sinha lashed out at Ravi Kishan and said, " “बड़ा आभारी हूँ भाई @ravikishann का कि संसद में बॉलीवुड और नशे पर बात चीत की। थोड़ी बात भोजपुरी फ़िल्म इंडस्ट्री की भी करें। पिछले तीस साल से इस भाषा और उस कला के सीने पर नंगा नाच करके एक पूरी पीढ़ी में जो अश्लीलता का ज़हर घोला गया है उस पर भी बात होनी है। ज़िम्मेदार हैं वो।“ (I am grateful to Ravi Kishan that Bollywood and drug usage was discussed in the Parliament. There should also be discussion on the Bhojpuri industry - the language and art has been misused to feed the poison of vulgarity to an entire generation for past 30 years. That should also be discussed, he is responsible.)"
Now, famous Bhojpuri actress Akshara Singh has slammed the Anubhav for using derogatory terms for the Bhojpuri film industry. Akshara released her video slamming Anubhav Sinha with the caption, "भोजपुरी में नंगा नाच होता है तो क्या आपके बॉलीवुड में पूजा होती है?" ("If there is an orgy in Bhojpuri, do you worship in Bollywood?")
Akshara in her video said that if someone is asking to improve and correct the wrongs in Bollywood then what problems people are having? Calling out Anubhav Sinha, Akshara said that we know you for your movie 'Thappad'. Even heard that you work for women empowerment, then how can you use such derogatory words? You abused your own mother language. As you belong to Banaras (Varanasi), you come from the same society. But let me tell you that the person who brought the forgotten Bhojpuri film industry into the limelight, who worked hard for it, it was Ravi Kishan Ji.
Without any government support the Bhojpuri film industry has made a name for itself. I accept some films are vulgar have been made but it has been made in every industry. Our industry has given two MLAs to India. The world is watching your industry whether it is suicide, murder or drugs nexus. What you do is wrong and if we do the same thing we are wrong.
