Kapurthala Jan .4 ;Bholath congress MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira who was released on bail by Punjab and Haryana High court today was again arrested by Kapurthala police in another criminal case of to intimidation to a key witness in NDPS case registered against him in 2015. Khaira was brought to Kapurthala from Nabha jail in the evening and was produced in the court of Judicial Magistrate first class Supreet kaur and the judge after hearing arguments sent him to police custody for one day.
Police today hurriedly registered criminal case under section 195 A and 506 IPC at 3 am today on the complaint of Ranjit Kaur wife of Kashmir Singh a key witness in the registration of drugs case under NDPS act against Khaira in 2015.
In the FIR, complainant Ranjit Kaur resident of village dogranwala near Kapurthala alleged that on Oct 15,2023 two unidentified masked persons came her residence at village dogranwala on a motorcycle and threatened her to kill her family in case her husband did not withdraw his statement given to the court against Khaira at Jalalabad in the NDPS case .On October 22,2023 she received an anonymous threatening call to eliminate her family .
The complaint had also filed a criminal complaint against Khaira in the court of judicial magistrate Supreet Kaur who disposed off her case and directed the SHO to investigate the case on Nov.6 last year.
