Big Boss 18: Know why Gunaratna Sadavarte received death threats before entering the show?

Controversial advocate Gunaratna Sadavarte has entered the reality TV show Big Boss 18 hosted by Bollywood actor Salman Khan, he had received death threats before entering the show.

Gunaratna Sadavarte, a 50-year-old lawyer from Maharashtra, has entered the Big Boss 18. He hails from Nanded, Maharashtra. He completed his education in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Mumbai. He is known for his activism and involvement in high-profile legal cases and he has gained prominence for his work on cases involving public interest and social justice. Few years ago, Sadavarte came from Nanded and settled in Mumbai. 

He started practicing law in Mumbai. Initially, he was a medical doctor by education. He has done Ph.D. on the Constitution of India. Gunaratna Sadavarte has married his college love, Advt. Jayshree Patil. They have a daughter named Zane.

The viewers are supporting Gunaratna Sadavarte in the Big Boss 18 reality TV show. He has won the hearts of the audience with his unapologetic attitude and spontaneous reactions in the show. Why did Gunaratna Sadavarte received death threat?

A day before Sadavarte entered the Big Boss house, his wife approached Mumbai police and claimed that he had received a death threat over the phone. Earlier, he had received a similar threat call in May.

According to the Bhoiwada police official, a person identifying himself as Rahil called up the lawyer on Friday and threatened to harm him. Jayshree shared that the threat call was related to Sadavarte’s statements concerning a redevelopment project in Worli in south Mumbai.

Previously, he was also arrested and had to spent 18 days in Arthur Road Jail for his alleged involvement in a protest by striking MSRTC employees at NCP chief Sharad Pawar’s residence. The State Bar Council had suspended lawyer's licence to practise for two years due to misbehaviour. The disciplinary committee found the advocate guilty of "other misconduct" under Section 35 of the Advocates Act of 1961.

An email by the Secretary of the BCMG to the Bar Council of India read “The License to practice issued by BCMG to Respondent advocate is hereby suspended for a period of 2 years from the date of the service of this order on him.”
