Actress Shilpa Shetty will not be served summon in Raj Kundra pornography case, says Police

Mumbai police have confirmed that they will not issue any summons to the actress, however are investigating her role in the racket.

In the latest development to Raj Kundra pornography case, the Mumbai Police have dismissed the speculations of B’wood actress Shilpa Shetty to be summoned for investigation. The news comes as big relief to the actress after her husband was arrested on July 19 in the pornographic production racket.

According to the latest reports, Mumbai police have confirmed that they will not issue any summons to the actress, however, are investigating her role in the racket as she is one of the managing directors of the company.

“Shilpa Shetty is one of Viaan Industries' directors, but the police inquiry is only focused on Kenrin,” reported Times.

Shilpa Shetty’s husband and businessman Raj Kundra was detained for making pornographic films, reportedly sold his app "Hotshots" to the UK-based firm Kenrin Pvt Ltd. The firm is owned by his brother-in-law Pradeep Bakshi but controlled activities from Mumbai.

Earlier, Kundra and his IT head Ryan Thorpe were sent to police custody till July 23. Both of them were presented before the Killa Court today, where their bail plea was rejected. Kundra and Thorpe will remain in custody till July 27.

In yet another twist in the case, the police claim that Raj Kundra was gambling online with income made from porn production. Police cited the same as the reason to investigate the transactions between Raj Kundra’s Yes bank account and the United Bank of Africa account.
