Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal (United) Supremo, Nitish Kumar skipped the Neeti Aayog Meeting held on Sunday which was chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
This act of his has just added fuel to the buzz of difference in both parties. Officials gave no reason, in particular, why the CM of Bihar decided not to be a part of this meeting.
Reportedly, Nitish Kumar dialed the interim President of Congress, Sonia Gandhi on Sunday to seek time to meet her.
It is the fourth time since July 17 that Nitish Kumar has acted like this.
Firstly, he skipped the farewell dinner of former President Ramnath Kovind which was organized by the Prime Minister. At that time, he cited the reason for the oath-taking ceremony of seven newly elected members of the legislative council.
He also skipped the oath-taking ceremony of Droupadi Murmu as the President of India last month.
This is not the first time that Nitish Kumar is dropping hints of breaking the alliance and forming an alliance with some other party.
Earlier he formed an alliance with the RJD during elections then switched to forming an alliance with the BJP for the latest elections held and is again suggesting through his actions that he might walk out from this alliance as well.
The speculation of the conflict surfaced after JD(U) on Sunday stated that it would not join the Union Council of Ministers. The national President of JD(U) said, “We had decided in 2019, after the Lok Sabha polls, not to join the government at the Centre. We stick to that stand even now.”
RCP Singh’s soured relationship with Nitish Kumar and good terms with BJP is allegedly the reason for this dissolving alliance.
Reportedly, Nitish Kumar and RCP Singh’s relationship deteriorated after the JD(U) chief decided not to nominate him to the Rajya Sabha for the third time, and he had to resign from the Union cabinet.
