Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has recommended a CBI investigation into the death of deceased actor Sushant Singh Rajput after speaking to his father KK Singh. The minister said that the Bihar government will ask for a CBI inquiry into the matter. It is also reported that Sushant's father and his family no longer want the police to investigate the case and want the CBI to investigate the case instead. Sushant Singh Rajput was found hanging at his Mumbai home on June 14.

Sushant Singh Rajput's father had met Nitish Kumar earlier today. On Monday, he released a video saying his family informed Mumbai Police that Sushant's life was in danger in February this year. They released a Whatsapp chat to Mumbai Police informing about risk to actor's life.

After Sushant's family's allegations, Mumbai Police released a statement clarifying that no written complaint was filed by his family in February 2020. The statement read, "Today, Sh KK Singh, Father of late Sh Sushant Singh Rajput has released a statement saying that the family had made a written complaint to Bandra Police on 25th February It must be clarified that no such written complaint has been addressed to Bandra Police Station on that date."

It further read, "However, one Shri. OP Singh IPS the brother in law of late Sushant Singh Rajput, had sent some whatsapp messages to the then DCP Zone 9 regarding this matter. The then DCP Zone 9 had called Sh OP Singh and requested him that a written complaint is mandatory for any enquiry or action. However, Mr Singh wanted this to be resolved informally, to which the then DCP Zone 9 clearly told him that it was not possible .- Shahaji Umap, DCP Operations."

Sushant Singh Rajput's friend and flat mate, Siddharth Pithani, also released Whatsapp messages from the actor's brother-in-law that were sent to him in February. The messages clearly indicate that Sushant's family wasn't happy with the company he was keeping; exactly what the family had informed Mumbai Police the same month. These messages were sent to Pithani's number as Sushant's family couldn't get in touch with the actor, and therefore had to contact Siddharth who was living with him at the time. Siddharth had then forwarded the messages to Sushant.

Meanwhile, a controversy erupted when Bihar IPS officer Vinay Tiwari was quarantined by BMC when he reached Mumbai to investigate the death case. A blame game of sort has been going on between Bihar Police and Maharashtra Police. While Bihar Police said that Maharashtra Police is not cooperating, the latter claim that Bihar Police is not following protocols.
