T20 World Cup Finals was surely the most-talked-about topic for Sunday but in a college, it turned out to be reason for a humongous fight between two students’ groups. Reportedly, incident that has surfaced is from Moga’s Lala Lajpat Rai Group of Institute College. During the clash many students have also got injured.
As per information received, 60-70 students were enjoying the final of T20 World Cup between England & Pakistan when after England’s win, student from Kashmir raised slogans which were anti-India and pro Pakistan. Post this, he got into an argument with a group of students from Bihar which escalated into a physical fight.
Both the groups then vandalized premises and started pelting stones at each other. When warder tried to pacify situation, he also became the victim of attack. All students ransacked the hostel and beat up other students as well. During fight, three students got badly injured and are currently in hospital.
Post this, when warden of hostel saw the matter deteriorating, he informed the police. Police reached the spot and carried out lathi charge to disperse the students from both groups. Students from college named Abhishek, Durgesh, Abhishek Prasad, Vivek, Ranjan while explaining whole incident said that all were peacefully watching match but when Pakistan was about to get defeated, students of one group started raising slogans supporting Pakistan which angered students of other groups.
