The Commissionerate Police arrested two associates of the infamous Bishnoi Gang in Jalandhar following a high-speed chase and a fierce shootout. The operation unfolded when the suspects, who were being tracked by the police, attempted to flee after being intercepted.
The suspects opened fire on the pursuing officers, prompting the police to retaliate. After an intense exchange of gunfire, both individuals were apprehended.
During the operation led by Commissioner of Police Swapan Sharma, the police recovered three firearms and multiple cartridges. According to officials, the arrested individuals are involved in several criminal cases, including extortion, murder, violations of the Arms Act, and drug-related offenses under the NDPS Act.
Authorities have stated that the investigation is ongoing, with efforts underway to uncover more about the gang’s operations and its network.
