Politics have intensified due to the bye-elections in Jalandhar, Punjab. BJP candidate and former MLA Sheetal Angural created a ruckus outside the zonal office of the Municipal Corporation located at Babrik Chowk. Angural has alleged that the posters put up by BJP workers in the Jalandhar West Assembly constituency are torn by AAP leaders and workers and the posters of AAP leaders are not removed. Angural has alleged that the government is targeting them because of the ruling AAP government in the state.
Former MLA Sheetal Angural alleged that Aam Aadmi Party is being helped by the officials in the elections. People are not allowing Aam Aadmi Party leaders to enter their localities and are not putting up their boards and flags according to the MLA. He further claimed that with the help of government officials, AAP leaders are putting up their posters and boards on government properties at squares and intersections.
Angural also alleged that if any person puts up BJP boards, they are removed. BJP boards were removed by AAP workers near Basti Guzan he further said. In the afternoon, the former MLA created a ruckus in the sub-office of the Municipal Corporation after which Angural and his supporters also raised slogans against the Aam Aadmi Party.
BJP leader Amit Taneja said that he will give a written complaint to the higher officials regarding this and that Municipal Corporation Commissioner Gautam Jain should be transferred. Also, IAS officer Gautam Jain has said that appropriate action will be taken in the matter.
