In a series of cases being reported on the front of alleged forced conversion in Punjab, yet another incident has come to the fore through a tweet from a former legislator from Delhi Manjinder Singh Sirsa.
In a video tweet from Sirsa, a turban man can be seen assisting a man while the latter is taking a dip in the water inside a closed compound while other people can be seen surrounding as the event unfolds.
The alleged forced religious conversions in Punjab are emerging as a huge challenge in the state. A few days back in response to these conversions by the Christian community two Punjabi youths were caught on the CCTV cameras vandalizing the installed statue of Jesus Christ and Mother Marry at a Church in the Tarn Taran district of Punjab.
Another event in the border district of Amritsar was reported 5 days back in Daduana where an event of alleged forced conversion from Christian missionaries was disrupted by Nihang leader Baba Major Singh along with 150 of his followers.
The entire episode brought Akal Takht acting Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh into the scene who has also presented his disappointment with the prevailing tensions of the forced conversions in the state and has appealed to the police to withdraw the case filed against the Nihang in the Daduna incident after the Christian leader registered the complaint against the Nihang.
Sirsa in his tweet said, “You hear the song in this video? These songs are warning bells!!! @AapPunjab. Govt won’t take any action against missionaries & pastors leading these illegal conversions and Nihangs can’t reach everywhere to stop them. The people of Punjab MUST unite against “illegal conversions.”
