According to the Police Division No. 5 falling under the commissioner, the case has been registered in compliance with the Child Welfare officials' complaint, all accused are absconding.
Talking to the media, ACP Jalandhar West said, this morning, the child welfare officer lodged a complaint against Sheetal Angural and his brother Rajan Angural among 4 others for child abduction. An FIR under sections 365, 368, 346, 343, 323, 195-A, 109, 120-B, IPC 75, JJ Act 2015, 23(1), POCSO Act 2012 have been registered against Sheetal Angural, Rajan Angural, Jolly, Chirag, Deepa and Jinny.
In fact, in a statement to the police, a teenager victim said that on March 11 around 11 am, Rajan called him and asked him to come to his office for some work. Upon reaching, he saw Sheetal, Rajan, Jolie, Jinny, Deepa and Chirag. They started beating him up with the fact that he had been given Rs 25000 by Lali and Shinder to place intoxicated powder in his office.
Later, Rajan took him to the Mukerian's village in his car. Two men were called there and he was threatened that these people are Pakistani drug traffickers, you and your family members will be incriminated in the case of drug smuggling.
On the way back to Jalandhar, they also recorded a video, threatened me (victim) to say that he and his family are drug smugglers. The victim was then kept as a hostage for a few days at Rajan's office. On March 16, at 10 am, all accused released him.
On April 30, Sheetal showed the same video to the public through Facebook. Victims family members came to know about this and asked the victim about the scenario, trembled in fear they reached Police Division No. 5 to register a case against Rajan and his associates.
Notably, a few days before, BJP leader Sheetal Angural was arrested by the police in a gambling case amid state-wide curfew, but bail has been granted to him.
