BJP releases another candidate list; Jaya Prada, Maneka and Varun fielded from UP

With Lok Sabha polls commencing in almost two weeks, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released another list of candidates and has chosen some political heavyweights to contest from the all important Uttar Pradesh. With this, seats of Maneka Gandhi and Varun Gandhi have been shuffled as Maneka contesting from Sultanpur and Varun fielded from Pilibhit. Rita Bahuguna Joshi will be contesting from Allahabad.

In this lates list, 39 names have been announced out of which 29 are from Uttar Pradesh and 10 are from West Bengal.

The announced candidates from Uttar Pradesh include Jaya Prada from Rampur, Varun Gandhi from Pilibhit, Rekha Verma from Dhaurahra, Maneka Gandhi from Sultanpur, Mahendra Nath Pandey from Chandauli, Manoj Sinha from Ghazipur, Virendra Singh Mast from Ballia, Ravindra Kushwaha from Salempur, Kamlesh Paswan from Bansgaon, Mukesh Rajpoot from Farrukhabad, Vijay Dubey from Kushi Nagar, Ram Shankar Katheria from Etawah,Bhanu Pratap Verma from Jalaun, Pankaj Chaudhary from Maharajganj, Pushpendra Singh Chandel from Hamirpur, Subrat Pathak from Kannauj, Satyadev Pachauri from Kanpur, Devendra Singh Bhole from Akbarpur.

The Patna Sahib seat, though, has created a rift between the BJP supporters divided between RK Sinha and RS Prasad after the saffron party announced Ravi Shankar Prasad as a candidate to be fielded from Patna Sahib seat.
