BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh today said if voted to power in Punjab the party would bring in an anti-conversion bill in view of large-scale conversions taking place in rural parts of the state.

Addressing an election rally in Ferozepur on Tuesday Chugh said Punjab is in grip of a calculated conspiracy of some foreign powers which have been rampantly engaged in conversions and have become a major threat to the security of the state.

He said Punjab needed to be saved from inimical forces as poor and gullible people are being targetted for conversions following which the traditional social structure in Punjab is on the verge of collapse.

Chugh said national security has been the upper-most in the BJP's agenda for which the party must be voted to power.  "There was a big threat to our national security from Pakistan which has been pushing consignments of arms, ammunition and narcotics to Punjab and it was so unfortunate and highly condemnable that Punjab leaders like PCC president Navjot  Singh Sidhu have been calling Pakistan Prime Minister as a messiah of peace.

Sidhu has been projecting Imran Khan as his bosom friend even as Imran Khan and the ISI have been sending consignments of arms and narcotics recklessly to Punjab posing a big security threat.

He said under the Channi government the law and order situation in Punjab has completely collapsed which was a matter of serious concern for the people of the border state. He said the time has come for the voters to throw out the Congress government and give BJP a chance to rule.
