Rakesh Tikait, the spokesperson of the Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) who is under fire following police radar for the Republic Day violence in Delhi on January 26 and warned the local administration of harsh consequences if the electricity to the farmers’ camps near Ghazipur border was cut at night. Tikait along with other farmer leaders cautioned the local police stations of a severe impact if the protesters were troubled.
“Agar Ghazipur border pe bijli kati, kisan local thana jayenge aage zimmedari sarkar ki hogi" Tikait said.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police issued a notice to Tikait and among others asking them to explain why legal action should not be taken against him for breaking the agreement with the police relating to the agreed route for the tractor rally on R-Day.
Police have also asked him to name those from his organisation who were involved in the violent act during the tractor rally.
“You are directed to submit your response within three days,” the notice read
The police also put up a copy of the notice outside Tikait’s tent at Ghazipur border.
Tikait has dissociated himself from the R-Day mayhem and stated that “those who created violence and unfurled flags at the fort will have to pay for their deeds”.

The Delhi police have served notices to Yogendra Yadav, Baldev Singh Sirsa and Balbir S Rajewal, among others for breach of mutual agreement and irresponsible behaviour.
25 FIRs at the Samaypur Badli Police Station have been filed against 37 farmer leaders over the Red Fort violence and are directed to surrender their passports.
