In a shocking development, a blast-like sound was heard near the Islamabad Police Station in Amritsar, Punjab, on Tuesday morning. The explosion-like sound was heard around 3 AM, startling residents and disturbing the peaceful night. Residents said the sound was so loud it shook homes, and some said paintings fell off their walls due to the impact. However, Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar has denied any attack or bomb blast that has taken near Islamabad Police Station.
Furthermore, Islamabad police officer Jasbir Singh confirmed hearing the explosion but clarified that there was no explosion inside the police station premises. Authorities are currently investigating the source of the sound of the explosion. As per the information received, the blast-like sound was heard near the Salama Wadi gate of the police station.
Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar's statement was shared on X in which he said, "Our sentry heard the noise around 3 am-3.15 am. He saw that the was no damage. People claimed responsibility on social media. We verified those claims. We had nabbed 10 people from a module earlier, two brothers were also nabbed - one of them is a juvenile."
"Another man, Aman Khokhar & 2-3 others are on our target and they will be nabbed soon. Old incidents have been traded and we are verifying this incident as to what has been used here...But we will investigate this and take it to its logical end. This module will be neutralised...We are alert, " added Amritsar CP Bhullar.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that Germany-based gangster Jeevan Fauji has claimed responsibility for the blast in an unverified social media post. Officials are currently investigating the matter.
