After playing Olympian sprinter Milkha Singh in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra 2013 film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Farhan Akhtar is all set to reunite with Mehra after six years for another sports-drama.In the film titled Toofan, the actor is playing a boxer. The film is produced by Farhan and Ritesh Sidhwani.
“It not a biopic. It is a fictional story scripted by Anjum Rajabali. Farhan fell in love with it as soon as he heard it. Rakeysh has already started with the prep and Farhan will be training extensively in boxing. He is looking forward to working with Rakeysh again. The film should roll this year”, a source close to the development informed.
For the 2013 film, Farhan had started training in November 2011 beginning with a one-hour-a-day regimen, four days a week, which eventually went up to six hours a day six days a week. He put on eight kg for the portions that featured him as a soldier, and lost 10 kg to play the sprinter, who is also known as The Flying Sikh. His efforts fetched Farhan a Filmfare Award for the Best Actor. The film ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ also bagged the National Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment.
