Bollywood v/s Hollywood: Rihanna tweet sparks debate on Twitter, users tweet 'Bollywood quiet' on Farmers' protest

After Rihanna's tweet, a debate on Twitter has started where many users are tweeting about Bollywood being quiet when the farmers of India are protesting in unison against the contentious farm laws.

Farmers protesting around the borders in Delhi gets international support time and again. Now, it is Rihanna, a Hollywood superstar and Greta Thunberg who rose to fame as a teenage by protesting against climate change.

Rihanna in a tweet writes, "Why aren't we talking about this? #FarmersPrtest." She shared a news story of CNN in her tweet. Similarly, Greta Thunberg also expressed her solidarity with the protesting farmers in India who are agitating for more than two months now against the contentious farm laws.

After Rihanna's tweet, a debate on Twitter has started where many users are tweeting about Bollywood being quiet when the farmers of India are protesting in unison against the contentious farm laws. The subjects that are trending on Twitter after the tweet by Rihanna and Greta Thunberg are Mia Khalifa, Kangana Ranaut, BJP IT, Bhakts and Bollywood with 248k tweets.

One of the users, Hansraj Meena tweeted, "Rihanna (@rihanna) literally did more for the #FarmersProtest in one tweet than all of these silent Bollywood actors."

Another user, @Inquisitive tweeted, "it took rihanna to be the voice for the voiceless. rihanna. not some of these bollywood actors or industry folk, residing in the same country, claiming to be the same citizens of the same nation, often presenting themselves to be the very same people protesting. rihanna..."


While other users, alleged to be from BJP's IT Cell are raising questions about Rihanna's tweet about protesting farmers. One of the users, @zoo_bear tweeted, "IT cell trolls must be busy researching.. #Rihanna #FarmersProtest."
