Border 2 teaser released; Sunny Deol returns to fulfill soldier's promise made 27 years ago

Border 2 is the sequel of the movie titled Border which was released in India on 13 June 1997 that features Sunny Deol among multiple prominent actors.

Termed a cult classic Bollywood movie, 'India's biggest war film' Border 2 on Thursday was officially announced. Border 2 is the sequel of the movie titled Border which was released in India on 13 June 1997. Border was among the rare movies that had multiple big stars acting in a single movie but delivering a power-packed performance on the big screens. From dialogues to songs, Border remains in every Hindi Cinema fan's heart. Singer Sonu Nigam sang the song Sandese Aatey Hain and that track still makes every Indian emotional, especially those whose family members for the Indian Armed Forces.

Talking about Border 2, a short teaser was shared on X by a film critic. In the Border 2 Teaser, Sunny Deol can be heard delivering a power-packed monologue. In Border 2 teaser, Sunny Deol can be heard saying that he is returning to fulfill a promise made by a soldier that he will be back. Deol was talking about the line 'Mai Waapas Aaunga'. "Ussi Wade Ko Pura Karne, Hindustan Ki Mitti Ko Apna Salam Kehne, Aa Raha Hai Phirse." In the end, Sonu Nigam's melodious voice can also be heard singing the iconic song 'Sandese Aatey Hain'. 

Taran Aadarsh shared the clip with the caption, "BIGGG NEWS… SUNNY DEOL RETURNS TO ‘BORDER’… JP DUTTA - BHUSHAN KUMAR JOIN FORCES FOR ‘BORDER 2’… #India’s biggest war film is OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED… After 27 years, #SunnyDeol returns to #Border, will take the franchise ahead with #Border2. Directed by Anurag Singh, the film will be produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta. INTERESTING TRIVIA: #Border was released on 13 June 1997… #Border2 has been announced on the same date as well: 13 June."

For the unversed, Border was released in 1997 featured Sunny Deol as Major Kuldeep Singh Chandpuri, Akshaye Khanna as 2nd Lieutenant Dharamvir Singh Bhan, Sudesh Berry as Naib Subedar, Mathura Das (as Sudhesh Berry), Kulbhushan Kharbanda as Bhagiram (Cook), Rakhee Gulzar as Sujatha Devi, Sharbani Mukherji as Phool Kanwar (as Sharbani Mukherjee), Amrit Pal as Mahabir Bhullar, etc in the leading roles. 

Notably, Border 2's starcast has been kept under wraps as of now and only Sunny Deol's name has been confirmed. The 1997 movie Border was based on the real-life battle of Longewella from the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Now, the question remains on which incident, Border 2 will be based on.
