Team India skipper & Mumbai Indians former skipper, Rohit Sharma on Sunday blasted Star Sports for recording and airing his private conversations during IPL 2024. Rohit Sharma took to his official X handle and accused Star Sports of airing his private talks with other cricketers & colleagues despite his request to not stream them. Rohit Sharma's private talks with KKR Coach Abhishek Nayar about leaving Mumbai Indians had gone viral on social media. In the video, Rohit was heard saying that it would be his last IPL with the franchise. Below is what Rohit Sharma wrote-
"The lives of cricketers have become so intrusive that cameras are now recording every step and conversation we are having in privacy with our friends and colleagues, at training or on match days. Despite asking Star Sports to not record my conversation, it was and was also then played on air, which is a breach of privacy. The need to get exclusive content and focused only on views and engagement will one day break the trust between the fans, cricketers and cricket."
Rohit Sharma's private conversation
While Rohit didn't namedrop his franchise, his words seemed to suggest he was talking about the Mumbai Indians. "Ek ek cheez change ho raha hai... (Everything is changing one by one). Woh unke upar hai, main ye sab pe dhyaan nahi data... (It depends on them, I don't care about that),” Rohit could be heard telling Nayar in the backdrop of consistent fan chanting.
Amid the noise, Rohit was heard saying, "Jo bhi hai woh mera ghar hai bhai, woh temple jo hai na maine banwaya hai. (Whatever it is, it's my home. It's a temple that I've built)." However, what raised everyone's eyebrows when Rohit Sharma said, " Muje kya ye to mera last h (This will be my last one)."
