The Buckingham Murders is an Indian crime thriller film. It is directed by Hansal Mehta. The movie is produced by Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor. It stars Kareena Kapoor Khan as Jasmeet Bhamra, Keith Allen as Mille and Ranveer Brar as Daljeet Sethi. Prabhleen Sandhu as Preeti Sethi, Sarah-Jane Dias as Indrani Rai, Sanjeev Mehra as Kamalpreet Bhamra, Ash Tandon as DI Hardik Patel and Kapil Redekar as Saquib Chaudhary are seen in supporting roles. This film is marked as Kareena’s first production venture. This movie was released on 13th September in theatres.
The storyline of the movie revolves around a British-Indian detective named Jasmeet Bhamra, who is assigned the case of a 10-year-old murdered child in Buckinghamshire. In the movie, Jasmeet Bhamra is seen connecting the dots and finding a connection between the death of her child and the 10-year-old kid.
The audience has claimed that it is inspired by Kate Winslet’s series 'Mare of Easttown'. A user had posted, “Mare of Easttown ... God please!! Plz Get something original.” In response to this post, director Hansal Mehta said, “Decide after you watch. Don’t jump to conclusions.”

The Buckingham Murders is all set to get released on OTT platform. The movie will start streaming on 8th November on Netflix.
During the trailer launch of the movie, actress Kareena had shared her admiration for Kate Winslet. She called herself a huge fan of Kate Winslet. However, the actress has clarified that although Kate Winslet is an inspiration for her, but her character Jasmeet in The Buckingham Murders is her own interpretation and does not resemble to Kate Winslet’s character in the Mare of Easttown.
In an interview, actress Kareena Kapoor had shared her experience and said, “I think I loved playing that part because this is the first time, I am playing a detective, and I am a huge crime drama fan. It’s a career-defining role for me and one of my best characters.” The actress has also shared that she has asked the director Hansal Mehta to make it a four-part series since she has liked playing this character.
