In a spine-chilling chase in Madhya Pradesh’s Burhanpur district, a two-pound cake became the life saviour of two bikers. Allegedly, the biker smacked the cake on the hungry leopard's face while it chased them for long 500 meters.
Reportedly, two brothers, Firoz Mansuri and Sabir had gone to buy a birthday cake in Nepanagar town, which is 320 km away from Bhopal. They were returning home to Goradia village on their bike on Monday evening when out of nowhere a leopard jumped out of sugarcane fields and started chasing their bike.
Shaken but alive, brothers recall that they accelerated the bike, however, the leopard gained on them on the muddy village road. During the chase, it pawed at the bike leaving big scratches.
Firoz, riding the bike was entirely focused to escape the leopard and Sabir was riding pillion while balancing the big cake. While clawing, the big cat tore into the cake box which gave Sabir the idea to give it a taste of the cake. He then smacked the cake box straight at the leopard’s face.

Following the sudden attack, the leopard could not figure out what happened and rushed back into the sugarcane fields.
Initially, the forest department was sceptical whether it was a leopard, but later on the stretch, foresters discovered leopard pugmarks.
“The leopard had followed us for over 500 meters. We narrowly escaped death,” says Sabir after their near encounter with death.
