Bollywood actress Ananya Pandey is all set to make her comeback on OTT with a comedy-drama series named Call Me Bae. Call Me Bae marks the OTT debut of actress Ananya Pandey who portrays the character Baela aka Bae who was born as a child with a silver spoon but later goes to the 'City of Dreams' Mumbai after her family loses their money. Created by Ishita Moitra and backed by Karan Johar's production house Dharma, Call Me Bae is a light-hearted approach to the tale of a wealthy heiress who suddenly finds herself broke and forced to rebuild her life from scratch in Mumbai.

Talking about Call Me Bae OTT release date, the Ananya Pandey starrer series will start streaming on Amazon Prime Video on September 6, 2024. Apart from Ananya Pandey, Call Me Bae also features comedian & actor Vir Das, Varun Sood, Gurfateh Pirzada, Vihaan Samat and more in the leading roles.

Call Me Bae's trailer has raised many eyebrows as it is based on the topic of privilege and struggle. What is attention-grabbing is when Ananya Pandey in the trailer is seen talking to a watchman and he says that where her struggle starts, their dreams are fulfilled. This was a real-life incident involving Ananya Panday and actor Siddhant Chaturvedi. During a debut actors' roundtable, Siddhant Chaturvedi commented comparing Ananya's perceived struggles to others' more challenging aspirations, which set social media abuzz.

After Call Me Bae's trailer release, many fans pointed out the series' resemblance with the US sitcom 2 Broke Girls. 2 Broke Girls has a similar storyline of Beth Behrs' character, Caroline, who also goes from riches to rags. However, Call Me Bae appears to add its own unique spin. The official synopsis of the trailer reads, "Will this South Delhi princess find her place in the city of dreams? Whatever happens, a bae-ry interesting story awaits!"
